4 star scenes in it
By Claw
This was my first book from Shannyn Schroeder, so I was not sure what to expect. I gave it 3 stars, but some parts were a 4 star.

Overall the characters in the book were likable, I liked Griffin, millionaire video game creator a bit more, even though we didn't really know much about him until the last half of the book. He had a great heart who helped trouble teens find an outlet, rather than go down the wrong path.

Indy, Real Estate Agent and Waitress, the female lead in the book was a carefree women who had an attraction to Griffin, but he was only suppose to be a "rebound guy", of course we know that their connection to each other was heading past casual for the both of them. Indy did a lot of running away in the book- which bugged me.

This book was a tame romance novel, no spicy love scenes, so if you are looking for an erotica book, this would not meet your needs.

Overall, I would probably try the first book in the series, to see if I had a better connection with those characters.

Just different enough to be fresh and exciting
By ysar
Real estate agent Indy Adams doesn't answer to anyone. She's fiercely independent, loyal to her sister, and all about taking charge of her own destiny. Even if that means selling houses by day and bartending by night to make ends meet.

When the guy she's been dating begins to wear on her, she ditches him, only to have him propose marriage. But that's not the man or the life she wants, and she's moving on without him whether he accepts it or not. Then she gets every agent's dream, a chance to find a home for her brother-in-laws super-rich best friend, and she comes face to face with Griffin Walker — every woman's dream.

Griffin isn't looking for anything serious, either, so when chemistry with Indy sparks, it seems like the perfect casual match. But one night becomes many more, and what started out as no-strings-attached is about to get more serious than either of them ever anticipated.

The Verdict: While I liked Indy as a secondary character in More Than This, I wasn't sure she was the kind of woman I could really relate to. But Shannyn Schroeder hasn't let me down yet, so I figured I'd give her a shot.

As outgoing, strong, and fun-loving as Indy is, her life isn't turning out the way she wants. She's not interested in a serious relationship, but even her casual flings are starting to disappoint. Still, she maintains a smile and determination to improve her lot, and when she meets the source of her next commission, she thinks she's struck gold. Griffin's reputation for nothing serious would scare off lesser women, but as far as Indy is concerned, that makes him just about perfect — at least for what she has in min.

Griffin is made of money, and it would have been easy for Indy to let him pay away all her troubles, but it's not in her character to accept what would essentially be charity, and while she won't pass up a little fun, she's determined to stand on her own two feet. It made me like Indy much more than I had expected to, and it seemed to have the same effect on Griffin.

Now, there's one aspect of the story that I imagine would leave readers in two distinctly different camps, and while it may sound like a romance novel cliche, there was a twist that absolutely made the story. Griffin's torn feelings about it rang very true. There's shock and responsibility and guilt and fear that it might not be his problem after all, and I loved every second of the drama that played out as a result.

I don't understand how she did it, but Shannyn Schroeder took a handful of romance novel standards, mixed them up into something just different enough to be fresh and exciting, and delivered up an emotional journey I wasn't expecting and thoroughly enjoyed reading. If this is what I can expect from The O'Learys, I'm all in.

More than a good time
By Jonetta (Ejaygirl)
The set up
Indy Adams is fierce about her independence. Her recently divorced boyfriend proposes after she breaks up with him and won't take "no" for an answer (she finally wised up about him). Her flagging career as a real estate agent is about to get a much-needed boost when her brother-in-law's rich best friend asks for her help in finding a home. However, Griffin Walker is also looking for more than an agent.

The issues
Griffin has a reputation for being commitment shy, which normally would fit right into Indy's style. She's not looking for a relationship or someone to take care of her. But, there's more to Griffin than that reputation that precedes him and he's falling for the one woman who isn't interested in a commitment. Both started their relationship with only an expectation of a good time but he's wanting to change the rules.

What I loved about this story
I wasn't prepared to even like Indy based on what I knew of her from the first book. She completely disarmed me with her sunny attitude, even while her life was falling apart. It would have been so easy to let Griffin "rescue" her but Indy was determined to find her own way and I admired her resilience. Griffin turned out to be a really great guy who was struggling with emotions he'd never experienced. Their path to a relationship that worked for both of them was often funny and sometimes heart wrenching. It takes real skill to turnaround an unlikable character and Indy's transformation was pretty huge. It also wasn't one-sided as Griffin had some growing up to do, too.

The bottom line
I'm really glad my first impressions were completely off base about Indy and I could really enjoy this sizzling romance. She reminded me a lot of a younger Jenny McCarthy (the author channeled Kate Hudson), making the best of her talents no matter what others thought of her. Indy makes no excuses nor offers any apologies for her choices. I so enjoyed seeing her relationship with Griffin develop and mature. This series is now one of my favorites.
