About the Author
Arthur V. Hill, Ph.D. is Associate Dean for MBA Programs in the Carlson School of Management and the John and Nancy Lindahl Professor for Excellence in Business Education in the University of Minnesota’s Operations and Management Science Department. He co-edited The Journal of Operations Management, a leading academic research journal in the field. A Fellow of the American Production Inventory Control Society, he wrote the APICS CPIM and CIRM certification exams for many years. He served two terms on the board of POMS, the world’s leading society for operations management professors. Chad W. Autry, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management at the University of Tennessee's College of Business Administration. He contributes actively to the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and the Warehouse Education and Research Council, and has led at state and national levels for the Production and Operations Management Society and Institute for Supply Management. Thomas J. Goldsby, Ph.D., Professor of Logistics at The Ohio State University, is Associate Director of its Center for Operational Excellence and Research Associate at its Global Supply Chain Forum. He has supervised over 100 Lean/Six Sigma supply chain projects with industry partners, and co-authored Lean Six Sigma Logistics. John E.
