One of the Best!
By Jacktavish
I have the first 3 Creepy Archives & the first 2 Eerie ones. That being said, Volume 3 and Volume 1 of Creepy are my favorites in art & stories.
This volume is the last solid (non-reprint) collection of the "Goodwin years". Art fans get 5 (!) Steve Ditko stories, 3 Reed Crandall, 2 Neal Adams, 2 Dan Adkins, 4 Jerry Grandinetti, 4 Angelo Torres & 1 Gene Colan story. Sadly, there are no Gray Morrow stories, but he provides 3 of the covers, w/ Frazetta on the other two. I deduct one star because the Adam Link series is really dated, not horror or funny or sci-fi.
My copy was used, $20, and in great nearly new condition!
After this, I will wait until Volume 9 or 10 when the Warren renaissance occurs (Corben, Marota, Wrightson, Mayo, Heath, Torrents, etc.) Read reviews before you buy Creepy Volume 4, 5, 6, or Eerie #3, 4 or 5.

Quality Hardcover - Lovingly restored!!
By John Ferguson
Dark Horse really outdo themselves with these Archives! Beautifully presented oversized hardcovers with dustjackets. Great artists such as Colan, Frazetta, Ditko, Wood, Morrow, Severin and others. The quality paper really brings out the art and they compare well with the "Marvel Masterworks" in terms of quality (if only DC would improve the paper on their Archives and Classics). The Ditko stories in particular present wonderfully-the art jumps out at you on this paper! Highly Recommended!!

"Archives Vol.Three ... CREEPY ... Neal Adams/Ditko/Archie Goodwin/Angelo Torres ... Dark Horse (2009)"
By J. Lovins
Dark Horse Comics presents "CREEPY ARCHIVES VOL.THREE HC" [Hardcover], Creepy originals #11-15 ~ Dark Horse has put together some true classics with an all-star lineup of storytellers and illustrators...started collecting 'Creepy' and Eerie Archives, which I own the originals and was also involved in the fan club roster.

Covers by Frank Frazetta (covers #11, 12 & 15) and Gray Morrow (covers #13 & 14) each cover an original. Plus Neal Adams, Dan Adkins, Hector Castellon, Gene Colan, Johnny Craig, Reed Crandall, Steve Ditko, George Evans, Frank Frazetta, Archie Goodwin, Jerry Grandenetti, Bob Jenney, Gil Kane, Rocco Mastroserio, Gray Morrow, Donald Norman, Joe Orlando, Ron Parker, John Severin, Manny Stallman, Angelo Torres, Jay Taycee, Alex Toth, Al Williamson, Wally Wood...and the man calling the shots Jim Warren.

A weird operation threatens to make a monkey out of a carnival prize fighter in BEAST MAN, interior artwork by Ditko and cover art by Frazetta, one of my favorite all time covers on Warren Publications.

Menace from the past reaches forth to control the present, deep within an abandoned mineshaft in the southwest...although abandoned is a misleading word, because from here it's not such a long step until we're face to face with TERROR BEYOND TIME, beautifully illustrated by Neal Adams and not of this century story by Archie Goodwin...but the classic cover art for this issue #15 setting up the story is by the one and only Frazetta...his covers are stunning with vintage paintings, as only he can deliver!

But my favorite story is SKELETON CREW, interestingly entertaining story by Archie Goodwin with outstanding artwork by Angelo Torres, no monsters in this one, just plain harmless ants, join the crew of RIO STAR as they're running out of hands, now we are going to witness what turn this into a ship from hell...as Uncle Creepy remarks ~ "The boys went aboard to get the cargo, and IT gets them! All they get is ANTS IN THE PANTS...among other places".

As one of my fellow-reviewers points out, Steve Ditko stories in particular present wonderfully-the art jumps out of each panel and at you on this paper! You see why Ditko was such a force in "Comic Book History", he has a place of honor ready for him. And the other reviewer is right on with the statement Adam Link Series is outdated...I did like the previous Creepy Archive Vol.Two stories involving Link...believe they've run out of fresh ideas.

Highly recommend ~ another winner from Warren and Dark Horse.
